Four-Star OT Cameron Williams Decommits from the University of Oregon

Cameron Williams

On Monday the Oregon Ducks suffered a massive blow to their football program centered around the loss of their head coach Mario Cristobal. After the news broke that he was leaving for Miami the Ducks lost three key commits just hours later. Today you can add another name to that list. Four-star offensive tackle, Cameron Williams.

Cameron Williams announced late Wednesday night that he will be decommitting from the University of Oregon via social media. This loss now drops them from 12th to 15h overall in the 2022 recruiting class rankings and leaves them with one offensive line commit left.

Williams is a four-star offensive tackle out of Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. He comes in already built like a full grown man standing 6’7, and weighing in at 340-pounds. Over 30 schools have offered him a scholarship but Williams has only taken five visits out of that group. Texas Tech, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, and Miami. I think that the University of Texas should be the front runners for his talents now but I wouldn’t rule out Miami just yet.

Oregon still has 15 commitments in their 2022 recruiting class and remains No. 2 in the Pac-12. They are still without a head coach as well with some signs pointing to Chip Kelly coming back to Eugene. Either way it looks that Oregon fans will still have to get over a few more cloudy days before they can see some sunshine on their program again.
