Steve Sarkisian‘s momentum at Texas has finally hit its first bump. Earlier Thursday afternoon four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart announced he will be decommitting from the University of Texas. This comes less than a month after originally committing to the Longhorns.
Back in mid February Evan announced his commitment to the Longhorns. Just five days after they snagged five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy out of California. His decommitment drops the Longhorns below the Sooners in the Big-12 class rankings for the Class of ‘22. They still have plenty of play makers though in Armani Winfield and Jaydon Blue.
Evan Stewart is a four-star wide receiver out of Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas. He is 6’0, 175-pounds and is a freak athlete on the football field and on the track. Stewart has run a 10.74 100m dash, and a 21.08 200m dash and is currently a top-eight football player in the state of Texas.
34 other schools have offered Evan Stewart a scholarship besides the University of Texas. Some of those schools are Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, and Georgia. Some scouts might even have Stewart as their No. 1 WR in the class this year. With that being said it will obviously be a tight race for the Frisco Liberty prospect. It will be interesting to see what team ends up with the star wide out.
