KU Lands It’s Highest Rated Recruit Ever with the Signing of Quaydarius Davis

Quaydarius Davis

It has has been a long journey for Quaydarius Davis. After decommitting from SMU, Texas, and USC, Davis announced his commitment with the Kansas Jayhawks in early January. Yesterday morning, Davis would make it official by signing his National Letter of Intent with the school.

This is a historical signing for the Kansas Jayhawks as Davis is the highest rated recruit to ever land at the University. According to 247Sports he passes 2013 signee Marquel Combs as the highest rated Jayhawk ever. Davis credits his long-term relationship with Emmett Jones, who used to coach at Dallas Skyline. Jones was a coach while Quay’s uncle, Anthony Davis (not the Lakers star PF), was at Skyline.

Quaydarius Davis is a four-star wide receiver from Dallas Skyline High School. He stands 6’0, and 193-pounds, and is ranked as the No. 22 ranked wide out by 247Sports.com. Schools like Texas, Alabama, USC and Florida were some of the 21 offers Davis was offered. The Dallas product wants to continue to make history at the University, and wants to become a leader his freshman season.

The talent in the Jayhawks ‘21 recruiting circuit heavily favors the defensive side of the ball. Five of the top seven recruits for Kansas are defensive recruits. Luckily for Les Miles offense the class is led by Quaydarius Davis and four-star running back Devin Neal. Kansas’ offense is still settling on who will be the starter for the 2021 season, but Davis is sure to make an impact either way.
