2022 Four-Star ATH Kody Jones Commits to Michigan

Kody Jones

Michigan just landed two of the top talents in the state of Tennessee this morning. Germantown, Tennessee native Kody Jones announced via social media that he will be committing to the Michigan Wolverines. Less than a minute after that announcement four-star safety Taylor Groves announced he would be joining him in Ann Arbor.

Kody Jones is a 5’11, 180-pound athlete for Germantown High School. Before switching over to defensive back Jones was actually playing running back for the Bulldogs. He is currently the 15th overall athlete in the Class of 2022, and the 9th overall player in Tennessee. Jones was offered scholarships from 29 schools which included names like Auburn, Florida State, Penn State and Oregon.

Jones would say he didn’t really have a “second place” school but was a big fan of Virginia Tech. He credits his relationship with Maurice Linguist, Michigan’s new co-defensive coordinator, to feeling comfortable with Michigan.

Though Jones could be a talented running back, Michigan views him more as a defensive back. He was first offered back in mid-January during Linguist’s first wave of recruiting. The Wolverines would immediately jump into Jones’ top 10 schools. With Kody Jones’ commitment the Wolverines now have six commits for ‘22.
