The SMU Mustangs have been on fire as of late in the recruiting trail. After landing four-star wide receiver Jordan Hudson just three days ago, the Mustangs have landed another Garland Owl. Four-Star safety Chace Biddle has announced his commitment to SMU, making him now the highest rated recruit in program history.
Chace Biddle is a 6’0, 190-pound safety out of Garland High School in Garland, Texas. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 7 safety in the Class of ‘22 and a top-20 recruit in the state of Texas. He holds more than 20 offers and took visits to TCU and SMU in June. The Horned Frogs were a favorite to land the Garland product, but it looks like Coach Samples was able to lure him away during his visit.
He joins a class that is now ranked 58th in the country, and 3rd in the AAC. Jordan Hudson is Biddle’s teammate at Garland High School, and is one of the top wide receivers in the class. Hudson was the highest rated recruit the Mustangs had ever landed before Chace Biddle’s commitment. Three-star defensive end Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode also committed to the Mustangs on July 1st. Now the Mustangs have landed five commitments since the start of July.
The SMU offense looks to have an extremely bright future ahead of themselves. Not only have they recruited very well recently but they have landed key transfers too. Grant Calcaterra and Tanner Mordecai are both big names coming from Oklahoma. Preston Stone is the 3rd highest rated recruit to commit to SMU, and was a top-16 recruit in the state of Texas last year.
