Back in April of 2020 we saw four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr commit to the LSU Tigers. Last month however the Aledo product announced he will be decommitting from LSU. The Tigers landed the No. 2 & No. 4 safeties in the Class of 2021 which could have been a strong reason for his de-commitment. Nonetheless though we finally have figured out Allen’s new home.
Bryan Allen Jr announced that he will now be committing to the University of Texas. Sunday morning he posted a video to his Twitter announcing the decision. Allen is a four-star safety out of Texas powerhouse, Aledo High School. The Bearcats are coming off a 13-1 season, and captured their 10th state title in 2020.
Plenty of teams came in and offered the North Texas native, but only a few schools really stuck out. Last weekend we saw his top seven schools which included names like Jackson State, Auburn, Texas A&M and Ohio State. Ultimately the momentum that Steve Sarkaisan has built in Austin was too enticing to avoid.
Texas’ 2022 recruiting class is now 4th in the country and No. 1 in the Big-12. Allen will be joining a ‘22 recruiting class that has tons of talent on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy headlines the class along with four-stars Evan Stewart, Jaydon Blue, and Armani Winfield. Jaylon Guilbeau and Trevell Johnson are the Longhorns two other commitments on the defensive side of the ball.
