Aledo High School has had plenty of talented players go to D-I schools, and they can now add Jason Llewellyn to that list. The three-star tight end announced Friday morning that he would be committing to the Oklahoma Sooners. This is the Sooners second commitment to their 2022 recruiting cycle this month.
Jason Llewellyn is a tight end for the Aledo High School Bearcats, and a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com. Up until recently Llwellyn was someone with nearly no traction on the recruiting trail. Since starting 2021 Jason has received 18 scholarship offers from schools like Indiana, Michigan, Texas and more. Oklahoma hadn’t offered him until February 13th, less than a week ago.
The Bearcats captured their 10th state title this year against Crosby High School. Aledo was able to rush all over the Cougars thanks to DeMarco Roberts and JoJo Earle. Those ten state title is the most in Texas High School football history.
This gives the Sooners six commits for their 2022 recruiting class already. He joins an already stacked group of four-star receivers in Talyn Shettron, Luther Burden, and Jordan Hudson. The Sooners also have five-star running back Raleek Brown on board as well for 2022. Lincoln Riley looks to just be getting warmed up for yet another impressive recruiting haul.
