Three-Star WR Khamill Pruitt Commits to TCU Over Baylor & Others

The Khamill Pruitt era at Arlington Lamar has officially turned purple & white. Pruitt, a rising three-star wide receiver in the Class of 2026, pledged his commitment to TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday, choosing the Horned Frogs over a rugged list of suitors that included Baylor Bears, Northwestern Wildcats, Washington State Cougars and several others. The commit not only locks down one of Texas’ high-school standouts but also marks a recruiting victory for TCU’s staff as they build toward a new wave of offensive talent.

Pruitt arrives on campus with an intriguing mix of speed, versatility and upside. Standing around 6’2 and 180 pounds, he posted 56 catches for over 1,080 yards and 11 touchdowns during his 2025 senior campaign, averaging an eye catching 19.2 yards per reception. He’s also an accomplished track athlete, clocking a 10.76 second time in the 100-meter dash and a 21.75 in the 200 meters, underscoring the speed he brings to the corner-route game and open field. With his commitment, TCU now secures the highest rated receiver in its 2026 class and injects a fresh playmaker into an offense that has been striving to revitalize its wide-out room.
This spring I was able to stop by Arlington Lamar to check out their squad which is filled with underrated stars. Coach Skinner made sure to emphasize his confidence in Khamill Pruitt in being someone who should have a major senior season. At the time he had just 4 offers from schools like Arkansas State & Lamar.
The choice in the battle for Pruitt boiled down to fit, development and belief. He said his relationship with TCU receivers coach Malcolm Kelly was pivotal, noting that the Horned Frogs’ track record of producing NFL ready receivers factored heavily in his decision. Pruitt also cited the proximity to home and the chance to stay in Texas while competing in the Big 12 as meaningful when stacking TCU up against other final-round contenders. Although Baylor, Northwestern and Washington State all presented strong cases with major resources and histories of their own, the pitch from TCU resonated most.
For TCU’s program, this commitment reverberates beyond the stat sheet. It signals that the Horned Frogs are capable of winning recruiting battles for in-state talent and directly competing with schools that might have appeared further up the hierarchy. With Pruitt joining a receiver group alongside fellow commits like Ace Theus and James Scott, the wideout room is now losing any question mark. The depth and talent level jump alongside Pruitt’s arrival, accelerating TCU’s aspirations to be a consistent offensive threat.
Looking ahead, all eyes will turn to how quickly Pruitt adapts to the college game. His speed gives him a chance to make plays as a true freshman, but development in route-running and strength will determine how high he climbs. He knows there is a lot of work he can do to his game which was one of the reasons he wanted to work a WR coach with a proven NFL track record.
For TCU, this commitment enhances their 2026 recruiting class and gives a tangible boost to their class ranking. Now the challenge becomes turning promise into performance, and with Pruitt in the fold, the Horned Frogs have added a weapon they believe can tip the balance in tight games in the seasons to come.
