Two Texas HS Football Powerhouses Battle for a District Title 🏆

We had two of the best football teams in 6A Texas High School football this season battle it out for a District Title Thursday night between Prosper High School and McKinney High School. Both team’s are stacked with talent, and very well could make deep runs in the playoffs.
Prosper High School has possibly the best offensive line in the nation with over 60 D1 offers spread across it. They are led by seniors Tyler Mercer & Ellis Davis who are both on that unit. McKinney High School has five-star safety & Florida Gator commit Xavier Filsaime and four-stars Bryan Jackson & Makhi Fraizer leading their team that has a bunch of young talent scattered across the roster. The Lions have over 125 D1 offers combined between their athletes and are without a doubt one of the most talented teams in the state.
The Lions started the game with the ball but had a quick three and out to start the game. After punting to Prosper, the Eagles moved the ball the field quickly but were halted in the rezone and held to a field goal. However McKinney’s offense once again came out flat and handed the ball back to Prosper where they quickly flipped the game on its head.
After some great blocking and long runs, Prosper opened the 2nd quarter punching in the first touchdown of the game taking a 10-0 lead. Not too long after that Leonel Anguiano broke off a long touchdown to extend their lead to 17-0 going into halftime.
McKinney would find a little bit of life in the 2nd half after finding some rhythm in the passing game, but it was too late to climb back from Prosper’s rushing attack. Even though both teams had similar numbers in total yards, the game tape was completely flipped. Prosper finished with over 200 yards rushing, and captured their District title. They were able to control the game clock, and never allowed the McKinney offense to find a groove.
