University of Michigan Lands ‘22 Four-Star Safety Taylor Groves

Michigan just finished up recruiting for the 2021 recruiting circuit, but there are no off days in football. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are already back on the trail, and just landed two huge commitments for the class of 2022. Less than a minute after landing, Kody Jones, four-star safety Taylor Groves committed to the Wolverines.

Groves chose the Michigan Wolverines over schools like Ole Miss, Jackson State, LSU and Alabama. Taylor Groves is a 6’2, 175-pound safety from East Robertson High School in Cross Plains, Tennessee. According to 247Sports he is the 16th overall safety in the class of 2022 and the No. 6 overall player in the state.

Taylor’s high school coaches rave about his combination of size and ball skills as a defensive back. He is also a really good basketball player, just further cementing his athletic ability. Grove wasn’t able to play in this years basketball season due to a knee strain that he got during football. He opted to focus on rehabbing his injury over rushing into basketball.

He joins an 8th ranked 2022 recruiting class that features fellow Tennessee native Kody Jones. Jones is a four star athlete from Germantown High School in Germantown Tennessee. The Wolverines also currently have Alex Vansumeren‘s commitment as well, a four-star in state defensive tackle.
