Ranchview vs. Joshua Scrimmage Notes

After finishing the 2024 season with a 6-5 overall record and 3-2 in district play, the Ranchview Wolves reclaimed postseason relevance with a return to the UIL playoffs—their first appearance since 2019 under Coach Richard Leonard’s leadership. Joshua is a team coming off their first .500 season in nearly 30 years after going 5-5, and look to build on the momentum this year.

Rushil Allada –

The Wolves bring back key contributors, including quarterback Rushil Allada, a 1st-Team All-District performer who broke school records with over 2,084 passing yards and 24 touchdowns as a sophomore. When he had clean looks, the offense was able to take big chunks off and move the chains.

Owl’s Strong Rushing Attack –

Obviously Joshua playing down to a 4A school, they did look a lot bigger & had a physical but a wing-t offense in 2025 is still a tough watch. Regardless, the Owls moved the ball relatively well, and were able to get in the endzone multiple times.
Esteban Salas was someone who was able to break off multiple big gains & looks like a potential workhorse for the Owls this season.

Logan Thomas –

Ranchview has a lot of talented underclassmen on their roster but Logan Thomas easily sticks out as their best playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. Slightly undersized right now, but that doesn’t mean he’s afraid to come make a big tackle.

Xavier & Zavion Johnson –

The Wolves will not just have two sophomores on each side of their offensive lines, these tackles are twin brothers Xavier & Zavion Johnson. Each standing at 6’5 & 250-lbs, the twins have a giant frame that could help Ranchview a lot in 4A football. Currently are still getting their feet wet with varsity speed & strength, but by mid-season I could see the Wolves having a much improved offensive line this year.
